Reviews and Ratings
During my stay, the hotel room was comfortable and pleasant, although quite small this time compared to my previous visits. The bar service was a bit slow, but the atmosphere was still enjoyable. The lift, although old, worked perfectly fine, and the location was fantastic right in the heart of the town, though a bit tricky to reach by car due to road closures.
My stay at the hotel was absolutely lovely. The rooms were warm and welcoming, with a very comfy bed and an exceptionally clean bathroom stocked with fluffy towels. However, the squeaky floor was a bit bothersome, and the proximity of a stair outside the bedroom window was not ideal.
I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The room was perfect, with a hot water wall heater and a window that opens, offering a nice view that was a bonus at double room rate. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always ready to make our stay as good as possible. The location is excellent, allowing me to enjoy a nice walk to restaurants in the evening, right in the town center close to bars, restaurants, and shops. The dining experience was lovely, with something for everyone, in a beautiful room full of character. However, there's a need for some TLC, and noise from the local bar could be heard.
The hotel had a historical and luxurious ambiance with a four-poster bed. The room, although noisy at times near the boiler room, featured a good-sized modern en suite with a walk-in shower, including a bath & shower. The service was friendly and included a complimentary sherry and efficient luggage assistance. The location was excellent, right in the heart of historic Shrewsbury, perfect for sightseeing and shopping. The dining experience, while delicious, suffered from noise transfer between rooms and the inconvenience of a distant car park. Overall, a mix of positives and negatives that colored the stay.
The hotel is in a central location, perfect for exploring the city with a lovely square and old church nearby. The rooms were kept clean with daily towel change and complimentary toiletries, though the squeaky floors and nearby stairwell affected the room's comfort. The service was excellent, with staff going out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. Dining in the nostalgic restaurant was a delightful experience overall, with just a minor flaw in the egg dishes not being served with toast.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The rooms were spotless and very comfortable, but booking on a weekend might not be ideal if you value your sleep due to the lively surroundings. The service was exceptional, with a welcoming and friendly staff always ready to help. The location was perfect for exploring the town, although parking arrangements and charges were a bit of a letdown. The dining experience offered a good variety but had some drawbacks. Overall, a great value for the money with some minor inconveniences.
The hotel had warm and cozy rooms with modern bathrooms and comfortable beds, plus a huge patio/balcony area overlooking the churchyard. The uniquely styled breakfast/dining room was clean and historical, giving a luxurious feel. The service was very helpful and friendly, going out of their way to accommodate guests. The location was convenient for Shrewsbury town center, although access by car could be confusing. The dining experience was a mix of rushed service but with beautiful and fabulous options. Overall, a pleasant stay with excellent facilities.
My stay at the hotel was absolutely lovely! The room had everything we needed for an overnight stay, and the breakfast catered to all our needs with very good service. The room was lovely and warm with a very comfy bed, and the bathroom was exceptionally clean with fluffy towels. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, super clean overall. The only drawback was the small size of the room, which paled in comparison to the bathroom, creating an odd contrast.
The hotel was absolutely lovely, with very comfortable rooms that were well appointed with all expected features including a modern 'state of the art' bathroom with quality fixtures and tiling. The relaxing bar was a nice touch, although it did feel a little tired.
